NEXT........
it shall be a pair of socks. I know I thought it was time for a sweater, or baby booties, or a scarf or back to
my purses. But NO!
While I was in Philly last month I bought some Koigu yarn at a LYS. The yarn is for a Mac and Me pattern for opera gloves that the shop had on display that I liked very much.
I just couldn't decide between two colorways, so I bought them both. One color was #226 (my birthday)
that's why I wanted that color and the other color I just liked.
Just now I made up my mind to knit the sock pattern "Crusoe" by Marilyn A. Roberts, using
Koigu in color #262. I'll make the gloves using the other color,226, some other time.
The question is.....will I ever make the gloves?

TINK.......TINK.......TINK
While watching the Academy Award Winning Movie from 1940 "Rebecca", I finished my RPM Socks.
As the title indicates, I did a lot of tinking while knitting these socks.
They are a little smug, but feel wonderful.
I used Bule Moon Fiber Arts Socks That Rock, Medium weight, in colorway "LUCY".
liked the yarn very much; it was very easy to knit with.
The pattern called for circular needles, but I used five, size 1 1/2 DPN until one fell down in between the gazebo floor slats, then I finished with four DPN's. I do prefer using DPN's and all 5 needles when possible.
Many thanks to Aija Goto for her help.

GONE, GONE, GONE
Yesterday, Memorial Day, weather wise was so georgeous. Birds were singing, leaves blowing, kids playing,
lake water waving, just a wonderful day, so I decided to sit outside
in the gazebo and knit.
This is as far as I got on my RPM socks when I dropped one of my new 6" size 1 1/2 Crystal Palace DPN's.
It went down in the crack of the slatted flooring.
Bummer. That's almost as bad as your dog chewing it up.
Now I guess I'll just finish up using only 4 needles, it's not my preference, but oh well.
That’s life. Ant it.

RPM
TAGGED
Ok..........I’ll do it............I’ve been tagged
Thanks Kathy...
First Let me tell you...............
Here's how to play...
1. Each player starts with 8 random facts/habits about themselves.
2. People who are tagged write a blog post about their own 8 random things and post these rules.
3. At the end of your blog you need to tag 8 people and post their names.
1. I love yoga. I’ve been doing it now for 4 or 5 years regularly. I was introduced to Yoga around the Late 1970’s, trying to find something for my first husband and I to do together. I then dropped out of the yoga scene in the early 1980’s. I'm glad I'm back.
2. I’m going to borrow Kathy’s (http://nuttinbutknittin.blogspot.com/) no.4, because I too am a creature of habit. However, you can come to my house unannounced, cause I’m sick when it comes to cleaning..(I guess that could have been no.3)
3. I love to travel. Anywhere is fine with me. Busy travels, relaxed travels, I just love to travel.
Coming home is always nice too. I'm very happy where I live.
4. I am a family person. Anytime I can be with my family I’m happy. They play a big role in my life.
5. I’m a movie buff; I watch at least a dozen movies or more a week along with my husband. When it’s academy awards time we rush around making sure we see all the nominees for all the top categories. I watch next to no TV.
6. I’m enjoying my age; I no longer wear much makeup and don’t care.
7. I’m a night person; I’m up at 7A.M. but still I don’t go to bed till after midnight, I guess I’ve always been like that. For me it’s a time to quiet down and chill out. I do, however, like the mornings also, the peace and quiet of morning along with the sounds of nature.
8. I spend way too much time on the Internet especially when it comes to Yarn and pattern shopping.
So there you go.........only I’m going to be bad and not tag anyone else. Sorry.
Happy Knitting all.
Thanks Kathy...

OH SO TIGHT!
This is as far as I've gotten with my RPM socks. It's a fun pattern and I'm enjoying watching the pattern grow.
I'm using the yarn called for which is STR medium weight and size U.S. 1 1/2 needle.
It's taking me some time because I am using 5 DPN instead of the circular needles. So as I'm knitting I have to stop and think about what is written in circular language.
Aija Goto was nice enough to help me with the conversion.
As I'm knitting I'm thinking, boy these look tight and small. But I kept knitting not thinking much more about it.
Then I thought maybe I should I try them on.
Oh ya, I felt like the 3 little pig story, I tugged and I tugged and I tugged.
Maybe I should have figured it out when I only casted on 54 sts. that It was the wrong size, the pattern was written for M and L, I choose the M. I didn't think for a minute that I had a size L foot.
So do I keep knitting, or Rip? If I keep knitting, I could give them to one of my grand-daughter E, or R or EM. Or I could keep knitting and tug them on me.
Answer, I'm going to keep knitting.

WHAT A DAY.............
May 16, 2007
I THOUGHT I'D NEVER FINISH.................
I've had so many migraines since I started
these socks, it took a long time to finish them.
Today was a perfect day to try them out, it's only
60 degrees outside today. They do feel nice.
I've started my RPM pattern by Aija Goto, using STR 100% superwash merino-
mediumweight colorway: Lucy.
I'm thinking of starting Katharine Hepburn Cardigan along with the RPM socks
from the new interweave knits "lace style" book using the yarn called for
in the pattern if I can find it somewhere.
We'll see how that goes.
It's just so hard to put the DPN for socks
down.

SOMEONE TOLD ME..........
that once I've knit with STR I wouldn't want to knit with any other yarn.
well I have not knit with my STR yarn as of yet, but I think she might
be right.
It looks and feels so great, and the colors are yummy.
I saw knitty's RPM pattern made up using Lucy and
I just loved the way it looked. I'm hoping to get that done soon.
Little Bunny Foo Foo, come on, I'm a greadmother, need I say more.
