PROGRESS REPORT...................

Ok, it only took 4 tries and lots of head scratching, as kathy can attest to.
But here they are. From "Favorite Socks" the Priscilla's Dream Socks".

not finished as one can see, but they are on their way to completion. (I hope).
the heel is done in short rows and different than anyother sock pattern I've done to date.

I'm using Dale of Norway Tiur as called for in the pattern and I downsized the needles 1 size to a 2 instead of a 3 to start and then for the lower leg I used 1 1/2.
I'm looking forward to posting a completed sock one of these days.
I hope you will all hang on with me.
Next week Stitches Midwest and I can't wait.

Good work! Now aren't you glad you persevered with the short rows? I'll be watching for the finished socks.

I have the Favorite socks book and I have Priscilla Gibson-Roberts' book and I'm having such a time with short rows, I've looked at tutorials online... Cast on and knitted and tried and frogged more times than I can count. Any suggestions?

Mareed, I couldn't get to your blog site from here so i'm sending you a answer this way. send me you blog site or e-mail address.
I too had a lot of trouble with these socks, even now i have a few gaps that I don't like. I couldn't find anything on line what I did was use junk yarn to practice.
good luck!!!

Hey~
Great progress...soon you'll have a pair. I have never tried short row heels, but they do look nice.
Have fun at 'Stitches'. Wish I were going!

I've been wanting to try those socks for a while...yours look really nice. I love the color!

Also, I just realized I responded to your comment on my blog incorrectly...I thought you meant you were heading to Indiana (don't ask why), when you're actually heading to DC. Sorry about that. But I can give you some DC tips if you e-mail me :-)
