PROGRESS REPORT...................

Ok, it only took 4 tries and lots of head scratching, as kathy can attest to.
But here they are. From "Favorite Socks" the Priscilla's Dream Socks".

not finished as one can see, but they are on their way to completion. (I hope).
the heel is done in short rows and different than anyother sock pattern I've done to date.

I'm using Dale of Norway Tiur as called for in the pattern and I downsized the needles 1 size to a 2 instead of a 3 to start and then for the lower leg I used 1 1/2.
I'm looking forward to posting a completed sock one of these days.
I hope you will all hang on with me.
Next week Stitches Midwest and I can't wait.

IS IT YOUR BIRTHDAY?

This picture was drawn by my Granddaughter Rachel a few years ago when she was about 6 years old.

A future artist I'm sure.
Thank you Rachel for your beautiful artwork.

CAN'T SLEEP

Well it’s after 2AM and after staring up at the ceiling for over 2 hours I decided to just give up and get out of bed.
My mind is on Stitches Midwest, which is coming up fast. Even tho I live in Illinois,
I’m going to stay at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare with my dear friend California Carolyn and
Ilisa, my wonderful niece from Stone Mountain, Ga. So I guess that is why I can’t sleep,
I’m thinking about stitches. I’ve signed up for 3 classes one on Thursday one on Friday
and another one on Saturday along with going to the Fashion Show Friday night. Last year
Carolyn and I had a ball. I spent more than I should have and I still have most all the yarn in
my stash all except a tube scarf that I knit shortly after.
So my brain is so busy packing all I need for the classes as well as a list of yarn that I might need LOL!
I should say might want. Which knitting bag to bring? What project should I knit there? On and on and on.
It’s no wonder I can’t sleep.
I should just pack everything now and forget about it till August 9th. Then maybe I’ll sleep.
Ok, I’m going to read a little of, what else, Harry Potter.
Maybe that will make me sleepy. One can only hope.

I WAS OUT TO LUNCH...................

and when I got home I checked the front door and what did I find?!

A beautiful ball of supersocke 100 ON LINE in City-Color along with hand lotion "sweet pea" which was
my gift from the birthday giveaway on julia's blog
and from visiting her blog and seeing what she has in her Future Projects, I just had
to have the book " knitted Babes". Something to add to my future projects.
That's cause my list is getting low. LOL!!

I think the yarn would look just great for (and I hate to say it) "Priscilla's Dream Sock's", I know kathy will get a kick out of that I'm sure.
THANK YOU JULIA VERY MUCH.

on the needles ..................

From interweave Favorite Socks using Lana Grossa Meilenweit Cotton, Cable Rib Socks. I'm not
very far as you can see, however, i'm finding it nice to knit both the pattern and the yarn.
then we have the Lion Brand Cotton-Ease Cardigan, because i'm changing colors it's a slow knit.
it's going to be a christmas gift so i've got plenty of time.
And last but not least the infamous "Priscialla Dream Socks" now I know why I don't find very many
pairs on the Favorite Socks KAL blog site.
I know the pictures aren't very good, but they are pictures.

MARISSA.....COME AND SEE!!!!!

I made this purse for Marissa’s friend that is coming to visit her.
I used Cascade 220 along with 2 skeins of TuTu. I attached the handles right to
the purse using US size 6 DPN's.
I hope she likes it as much as I do.
It's always interesting when felting something. You are never sure just how it will come out.
This purse, I think, came out nicely.
Now I can put my full attention to the heel of my
"Priscilla’s Dream Socks". It's something new to me so I'm just following what my cyber friend Kathy
told me to do. Just knit and follow the directions.
Well we shall see how that works.

Should I??????????

this is my friend figment. I wanted to make him a pair
of socks, but LOOK AT THE SIZE OF HIS FEET.
I'm just not sure if I should make a pair for him or not.
what do you think? and If so, what pattern do you suggest?

More Socks

Well finally I'm done with my tabi socks. I used Lana Grossa Meilenweit Inca yarn and size US 2 needles.
They are my second pair of Tabi socks, and I have yarn for one more pair.
Reason for so many of these lovelies, LOL! is so that I can wear my Mephisto sandals all year round as long
as it is dry outside. They are nice and warm. Good for Midwest winters.

So next and already casted on from the book "Favorite Socks"
the "Priscilla's Dream Socks". I love the CO method used for them.
The old Norwegian sock cast-on. It is described very well in
her "Simple Socks" plain and fancy book. The long tail I measured out was right on, one more stitch
and I couldn't have done it.

I'm still working on the sweater and another purse for Marissa's friend. It's always good to have more than
one project on needles. I think!

IT'S A BACK....

It looks kind of wide, the gauge is right on so I'm sure it will be fine.
Now on to the sides.
It does look like a wash cloth, doesn't it.

ON MY NEEDLES.................

The sweater is going to be a Birthday present for a little girl that I know.
It's a nice break away from socks and a rest for my poor hand and fingers.
The yarn is Lion Brand Cotton Ease in Almond, Terracotta, and maize colorway.
Needle size US 7.
Size is for a tiny little person. Size 4.
Shouldn't take too long.
In the past, I've sent out my sweaters to have
them professionally blocked.
Not this time, I have Kathy and Shirley to help. (I hope)

The bag I got the last time I was in Galena, IL. It's a shop that I go to whenever I’m there.
They always have a full line of Laurel Burch bags. They make great knitting bags. Last time I bought a different
Style in yellow. Next time ????

It's ready

I made this purse for Marissa to give as a gift, and I'm sure she will be very happy when
she sees it. I'm going to visit her mommy (Debbie) today and I'll bring it along.
As soon as my bread comes out of the oven, It's bread making day here.

ANOTHER ONE FOR ROZ

I'm not sure about this one either, the handle I knit and I knit but when you felt and don't watch that is what happens.
I'm hoping it will work for Roz, she needed a longer handle. This one is longer but long enough??????
I also talked her into a periwinkle colorway and then found out that in all my stash no periwinkle. I wasn't going to buy more on line and pay shipping for 1 skein. I'm holding (trying) off till "Stitches Midwest Event" to buy any yarn. RIGHT!!!!!we'll see if that works. August is a long way off when it comes to not buying yarn.
Also on my needles is a purse for Marissia, My bestest friend in the whole world, Debbie's daughter. She has a party to go to and wants to give one of my purses as a gift.
And my tabi socks. I've got the right foot all but the toe done.
So I've got my knitting cut out for me.

GOOD MORNING...............

HAVE A MAGICAL DAY!!!!!!!!!!!

A PURSE FOR ROZ???

It still needs a button. It the Amanda’s Squatty Sidekick with a
longer handle, but unfortunately I'm afraid
not long enough for what Roz wants. She has a shoulder
problem and can't carry heavy purses.
I made the handle longer than the pattern called for, but when you are felting it's
always a guessing game.
I do hope she likes it and that it will work for her.
I used Cascade 220 in color 9477.

STILL WAITING.................

for the postman to ring twice.
maybe I need to contack them?
I realy need the yarn. LOL!!!
Oh well, back to knitting my tabi socks.
I just finished a purse for my friend Roz, I'll post a picture later
The picture has nothing to do with anything, just wanted to post something pretty

TOOK NEEDLES, YARN AND OFF WE WENT....

we all need to get away from time to time, so off we went to Dubuque/Gelana,Il.
these pictures were taken from our room.
I did some gambling and won enough for, yes, more yarn, what else is there.
lots of shopping in Galena, bought another Laurel Burch bag for my knitting, maybe I'm take a pic of that later

made a stop at the field.
But remember what Dorothy said "there is no place like home".

WHAT WAS I THINKING?????????
